About

This is a record of my journey into learning skills of the mind. I’m not a career hypnotherapist; yet. I’m not a stage hypnotist, and I’m definitely not one of the new breed of young street hypnotists that seem to be cropping up all over the world. I’m not a trained healer, though I’ve done my share of navel-gazing and what some may consider some very woo-woo stuff. My life experiences have drawn me to the esoterica of Asian Martial Arts, Ki/Chi therapies, macrobiotics, shiatsu, visual arts. I’ve broken wooden boards with my bare hands and walked on hot coals with my bare feet. My tastes in music, art and lifestyle are quite eclectic.
I am a middle-aged man, a native of New York City, finding myself at a complex cross-roads. My career has all but evaporated, it’s disappearance accelerated by the disastrous downturn of the national economy. The city that I have always known as home is morphing into the country’s densest mall. There’s massive change happening all around me. I am redefining myself. Again. And I’m starting from scratch. Literally. Why does exploring the power of my unconscious mind, someone else’s unconscious mind, seem so appealing to me now? Ah, it’s all part of the journey, and I am recording it here on this blog.
My hope is that you will find a few things interesting, entertaining, and perhaps even enlightening as you peruse my posts. I welcome and encourage you to leave comments, ask questions and share ideas here, for that is the beauty and function of a blog like this. Tell me what has drawn you here to read about my experiences. What do we share in common? How are your coping with how the world is changing? How do we heal our jarred psyches? What is the universal application of controlling our subconscious minds now?

As you read through this blog, please do so with the understanding that I am not writing a book about hypnosis and self development. My posts may run counter to conventional wisdom as published by the experts, the authors, and the trainers. I make no claim here that what you’re reading is THE WAY to go about doing things.

These posts are mostly about my experiences, my experiments, my triumphs and my flops. Please bear that in mind should you decide to comment, inform or otherwise contribute to my blog.
