Understanding Trance

Trance is so common that we may no longer recognize it for what it is until someone else points it out to us. There is no “spell”. There’s no hijack of the will and mind that leaves only a zombie-like shell behind. It’s really just a subtle shift of perception, kind of like staring at those colorful posters that were popular in the 1990′s until you could see the hidden 3-D image.

It’s also about being a little more open to the possibilities of suggestion. Being able to make that shift of perception is a skill set that, when practiced over time, becomes easier to attain, making access to the subconscious mind more readily available. This can be very useful for self-hypnosis, especially in the category of enhancing  performance of a task or sport.
